DAY Studio

designed a tableware set consisting of 10 pieces; plates, bowls, containers and cups in different sizes and forms, and a carafe. The tableware set is taking its reference from the moon eclipse. Various periods of the moon eclipse are represented in different forms. Respectively, the colors chosen are used in the daily life in Harran.

The coffee cup series of DAY Studio is a contemporary translation of the Mırra cup which has a long and strong tradition in Mesopotamia. Mırra is a digestive drink mostly consumed after dinner and served in very small cups due its strong taste and effect. DAY Studio translated this routine into a set of cups with varying sizes which can be used for different types of coffee around the world, such as espresso, macchiato or Turkish coffee. The cups are taking its references from the kümbet house shapes.
